The character and nature of the parishes and communities of the Braes of the Carse are quite distinctive from those ‘on the flat’. This is a group to facilitate communication and co-operation with regard to mutual concerns and the future development of the area – positive as well as negative. It should be both welcomed and supported.
The group are finalising a constitiution but the main points are-
Form a Group covering all the villages and residents of the Braes
Main objectives are:
The preservation and conservation of the area and to ensure any developments are appropriate.
Ensure that the residents views are heard by the relevant planning authorities and reflected in their plans and policies, and ensure residents are made aware of all signifact proposals and applications.
There will be a steering committee with two representatives from each village.
The constitution will be available shortly and all residents will be encouraged to join (no charge).
In this way the views of the group will carry some weight with the planning authorities but not undermining the rights of individuals to make representations. Agreement has already been reached with Inchture Community Council that the group will have access to and be consulted/represented on all planning issues concerning the Braes area.
