Abernyte Heritage Group

The Heritage Group are planning to extend their oral archive collection to cover the second half of the  20th century, 1950-2000. This entails recording  memories from those who have lived in Abernyte at some time throughout this period.

New volunteers are welcome as coordinators, interviewers or interviewees.  An interview involves one or two visits  with  a follow up visit to check that the interviewee is satisfied. Their memories will then  be stored digitally. The recording equipment is user friendly and easy to work.

Readers will recall that the Heritage have an Oral History collection covering earlier periods which featured in Mary Young’s very successful book. Bringing the collection up to date is seen as a continuing process.
