MINUTES OF THE 19TH ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The meeting approved these. Proposed John Barton, seconded Barry Caudwell.
Presidents Report
Anne Davies reviewed the year?s activities and thanked the committee members and the community for their continuing support in what had been a busy and successful year. She pointed out that it was now 20 years since the Group started and she recounted the many achievements over the years the most recent being the digitising by the National Archives of Scotland of Winter?s Map of 1747, this is the earliest map of Abernyte. The members joined her in toasting the Past ,Present and Future of the Abernyte Heritage Group.
Treasurers Report
In the absence of the Treasurer, Margaret Carr, Malcolm McSwan presented the Accounts for the period to 14th November. Expenditure was lower than usual partly due to the Community Company paying for the web site costs, and a surplus for the period of ?190 was added to the Funds carried forward. It was explained that the balance in the Group fund was simply the result of a number of years of surplus and Grants or Donations for specific purposes were always retained for those purposes. The Accounts were approved by the meeting.
Election of Office Bearers
The President explained that Rena Havranek would like to stand down and reduce her commitments. The President thanked her for her contribution over the years and Barry Caudwell was proposed to join the committee. Barry agreed and was unanimously elected.
All of the other office bearers and committee members were available for re-election and as there were no other nominations they were re-elected.
