The church in Abernyte is home to a thriving congregation of the Church of Scotland and occupies a quite beautiful building of some antiquity.  Abernyte Church There is mention of Abernyte Church in records as far back as 1444. The west gable bears the date 1673, but after a 1736 renovation it was again altered to its present cruciform shape in 1837.
